The New Scotland Town Board is holding a working meeting the evening of Wednesday, March 26 at 6:00 p.m. to preliminarily discuss a major commerical development proposal (phase 1 involves over 500,000 square feet of retail space).  The development is being proposed for the area adjacent to the Rt 85 and 85-A intersection in New Scotland (across from Stewarts and behind Stonewell Plaza and Falvos).

Members of the Town of New Scotland Board, Building Department, and Zoning and Planning Boards have already met with a potential purchaser and developer of the former Bender Melon Farm property.  The developer has presented initial plans for a major commercial development - Phase 1 proposes 500,000 square feet of retail, larger than the Glenmont Walmart and Lowes developments, and a full build out of 1.5 million square feet of commercial and office space, slightly less than the size of Crossgates Mall.

We urge residents of New Scotland and the Village of Voorheesville, to attend this meeting to hear this first public discussion of the issue.
